VERANDA is proud to present The Art of Design, an annual awards program
dedicated to discovering and showcasing outstanding artisans and designers.
Through this year’s theme, Redefining Luxury, nominees were selected based on
qualities such as craft, innovation, authenticity, value and social responsibility.

Nominees were chosen by an influential committee of design and luxury industry
leaders and divided into four categories: Eco-Minded, Environments, Personal
Luxury and Trade Secrets. Four winners, one in each category, were selected by
an esteemed panel of judges, who include: Laura Turner Seydel, Clodagh, Albert Hadley, Kitty Hawks, Todd Merrill, Ralph Pucci, Iris Apfel, and Ursula Ilse-Neuman.

In celebration of The Art of Design awards program, design centers across the
country will host VERANDA Market Day events. Each Market Day will commence
with a keynote presentation by VERANDA Editor–at–Large Carolyn Englefield who
will moderate a panel of luxury and design industry leaders.

The presentation will feature a 20–minute screening of The Art of Design documentary
film, created by McConnell/Hauser, depicting “a day in the life” of each of the four
winners. Following the keynote presentation, sponsors will host showroom events
related to the theme, The Art of Design: Redefining Luxury.
